This is probably the most unique wine tasting that has ever been organized in Norway. Desderi Travel Club has chartered Skibladner – the world’s oldest still operating paddle wheel steamer – sailing on the serene lake Mjøsa. The ship can accommodate a total of 230 passengers, while the dining room can handle a total of 100 guests for dinner. The program is planned for Thursday June 21st – the longest day of the year.
OSLO – GJØVIK – LILLEHAMMER – OSLO
At 11.00 we meet at the Opera, and depart by private coach from Oslo. We drive through the scenic Norwegian countryside across Lygna, Raufoss and Toten to Gjøvik – where the old Dame, Skibladner, is moored and ready to take us on a four hours’ cruise to Lillehammer. Departure is set at 13.00. While crossing the serene Lake Mjøsa, Lars Klevstrand will sing and play his guitar, performing songs by the local poet and troubadour Alf Prøysen. When the mood is set – it is time to open the Desderi bottles. We start with the Spumante Amici per Sempre! The bubbly is followed by the Rose’ Barberosa, then the white Desiderio – to top it off with Barbera etichette Blu – and the two Superiore red wines; Etichette Rosso and Oro. If you are among the first hundred who register for this wine-cruise, yu will have the opportunity to enjoy dinner and taste the various courses combined with the wine. In the lounges, and on deck, wine and cheese can be sampled. Around four o’clock we arrive Lillehammer. Here the coaches are waiting for us, and will return us safely to Oslo. Happy sailing and enjoy!

The train’s name is still called the “Tsar’s Gold” and offers selected journeys between Beijing and Moscow in the spring and fall. Desderi Travel Club will block space for May 2020, as soon as the Tsar’s Gold will accept bookings.
